{"id":460,"date":"2023-02-14T14:11:06","date_gmt":"2023-02-14T14:11:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fhu-mamuth.org\/recherche\/"},"modified":"2025-07-11T13:46:41","modified_gmt":"2025-07-11T13:46:41","slug":"research","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/fhu-mamuth.org\/en\/research\/","title":{"rendered":"Research"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"teams\">Research teams<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to improve knowledge in the field of neuromuscular and skeletal diseases, collaborative projects have been set up thanks to a solid collaboration between clinical and research teams from the APHP, Inserm and Sorbonne University within the FHU MAMUTH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle toggle-no-border has-icon-left\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__row\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__header-wrapper\"><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__header\"><a href=\"#\"><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__header-title\">clinical research group \u00ab Surgical robotics and innovation \u00bb GRC-RIC<\/span><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__icon is-active\"><i class=\"fas fa-arrow-alt-circle-right\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__icon is-passive\"><i class=\"fas fa-arrow-alt-circle-down\"><\/i><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__content-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__content\">\n<p>Spinal surgery remains a very complex and complex procedure, given its link to the vital organs to generate movement and function via the nervous and vascular systems, and it requires digital innovations and the development of new operating theatre technologies. Robotics is also being used to treat the disabilities associated with an ageing population. The integration of surgical instruments equipped with sensors, real-time multimodal data processing algorithms and robotic control schemes incorporating this data is more than necessary to improve quality and personalise the pre-, intra- and post-operative phases for a better experience for both the patient and the surgical team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This digital transformation of the operating theatre can only be achieved with the complementary expertise of academics and industry. This area of research is part of the remit of the <a aria-label=\"GRC-33 Clinical Research Group &quot;Robotics and Surgical Innovation&quot; (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/sante.sorbonne-universite.fr\/structures-de-recherche\/grc-33-ric\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">GRC-33 Clinical Research Group &#8220;Robotics and Surgical Innovation&#8221;<\/a> at Sorbonne University, the University Institute of Spinal Surgery (IUCR) and the BOPA &#8220;Augmented Operating Theatre&#8221; Chair at the APHP.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__row\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__header-wrapper\"><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__header\"><a href=\"#\"><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__header-title\">Georges Charpak Human Biomechanics Institute<\/span><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__icon is-active\"><i class=\"fas fa-arrow-alt-circle-right\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__icon is-passive\"><i class=\"fas fa-arrow-alt-circle-down\"><\/i><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__content-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__content\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/biomecanique.ensam.eu\/accueil-biomeca-100770.kjsp\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Georges Charpak Human Biomechanics Institute  (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">Georges Charpak Human Biomechanics Institute <\/a>is a joint team of ARTS ET M\u00c9TIERS Paris-Tech and the University of Paris XIII. It is located on the Paris campus of ARTS ET M\u00c9TIERS Paris-Tech. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The institute provides an ideal forum for research between clinicians and engineers into human biomechanics, with a particular focus on understanding the mechanisms of damage to the neuro-musculo-skeletal system and contributing to the design and improvement of prevention, diagnosis and treatment methods.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__row\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__header-wrapper\"><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__header\"><a href=\"#\"><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__header-title\">Myology Research Centre<\/span><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__icon is-active\"><i class=\"fas fa-arrow-alt-circle-right\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__icon is-passive\"><i class=\"fas fa-arrow-alt-circle-down\"><\/i><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__content-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__content\">\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/recherche-myologie.fr\/le-laboratoire\/organisation\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Myology Research Centre (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">Myology Research Centre<\/a> is a multi-disciplinary research centre focusing on muscle and its pathologies, bringing together international experts in this field. It is located at the heart of the Piti\u00e9-Salp\u00eatri\u00e8re Hospital Group and the Sorbonne University Faculty of Medicine. The Centre is a Joint Health Research Unit (UMRS 974) with two supervisory bodies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> Sorbonne University (SU)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> and the Institut National de la Sant\u00e9 et de la Recherche M\u00e9dicale (INSERM). <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It also has a special partnership with the Association Institut de Myologie (AIM).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__row\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__header-wrapper\"><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__header\"><a href=\"#\"><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__header-title\">Plateformes d\u2019essais cliniques: I-Motion p\u00e9diatrique et I-Motion adultes<\/span><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__icon is-active\"><i class=\"fas fa-arrow-alt-circle-right\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__icon is-passive\"><i class=\"fas fa-arrow-alt-circle-down\"><\/i><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__content-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__content\">\n<p>The clinical trial platforms provide clinical care for patients, both children and adults, evaluate new treatments and carry out innovative clinical trials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two platforms located within the APHP.Sorbonne University Hospital Group were created by four partners, the Institute of Myology, the AFM-Telethon, the Assistance Publique &#8211; H\u00f4pitaux de Paris (AP-HP) and Sorbonne University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The I-Motion Pediatric clinical trials platform is located in the Lemariey building on the Trousseau hospital site and is specialised in the treatment of neuromuscular and neurological diseases in children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The I-Motion Adult clinical trials platform is located in the Babinski building on the Piti\u00e9-Salp\u00eatri\u00e8re hospital site and is specialised in the management of neuromuscular and neurological diseases in adults.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__row\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__header-wrapper\"><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__header\"><a href=\"#\"><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__header-title\">Sorbonne University Computer Science Laboratory | LIP6<\/span><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__icon is-active\"><i class=\"fas fa-arrow-alt-circle-right\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__icon is-passive\"><i class=\"fas fa-arrow-alt-circle-down\"><\/i><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__content-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__content\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lip6.fr\/?LANG=en\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"LIP6 (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">LIP6<\/a> is a computer science research laboratory dedicated to modelling and solving fundamental application-driven problems, as well as implementing and validating solutions through academic and industrial partnerships.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__row\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__header-wrapper\"><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__header\"><a href=\"#\"><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__header-title\">The Institute for Intelligent Systems and Robotics (ISIR)<\/span><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__icon is-active\"><i class=\"fas fa-arrow-alt-circle-right\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__icon is-passive\"><i class=\"fas fa-arrow-alt-circle-down\"><\/i><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__content-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-toggle__content\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.isir.upmc.fr\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"ISIR (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">ISIR<\/a> is under the joint supervision of Sorbonne University and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). The French National Institute for Health and Medical Research (Inserm) also supervises the AGATHE team&#8217;s medical research.
